Our Team

Richard is the Technical Director of Plater Group. He is a chartered chemist and has over 35 experience in the manufacturing sector of the chemical industry, developing a wide experience of manufacturing, product and system development and process optimisation. He thrives on working closely with customers to find solutions to their operation and product manufacturing issues. Richard has played hockey since the age of 15 and now umpires which takes him all over the north of England and he is chairman of the umpire selectors for Yorkshire.

John, Plater’s Site Manager has over 30 years manufacturing experience across the Food and Nutraceutical and Cosmetics industry. The Ministry of Agriculture sponsored John through university where he gained Bsc(Hons) Food Safety and Quality Management / Msc Chemistry and PhD in Molecular Biology, contributing to his expertise in Product Design and Quality Management Systems. Outside of work John enjoys reading, scuba diving and walking his rescue dog, a German Shepherd Staffie cross.

Amy’s role in the Plater Team is Project Manager based in Glossop, having experience in a variety of roles including Project Coordinator providing technical solutions, services and support to the healthcare industry and Transport Coordinator for a major food manufacturer. Her qualifications also include IOSH Managing Safely and Prince 2 Project Management. Amy is a proud Mummy to a teenage daughter and 2 cats Nelly and Luna and she enjoys sea fishing, yoga and watching true crime documentaries.

Wayne started work as an operative at the Glossop site in 1996 and has gained an NVQ Diploma in Manufacturing Practices. Utilising his vast knowledge of the chemical industry he has the ability to operate both machinery and equipment on site. He has a great understanding of leadership skills having worked his way to the position of team leader and more recently Shift Manager. Wayne enjoys learning new skills and meeting customers when running trials for potential new business. He gains a lot of satisfaction as a manager, sharing his knowledge to ultimately strengthen his team. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with family, especially his granddaughter. He also enjoys doing DIY around the house.

Tony has worked at Plater Group since 2002 and has worked his way up from shift worker to shift manager. His areas of expertise are team management, time management and chemical manufacturing and processing. He has gained his many qualifications through determination and hard work. Tony likes the friendly work environment and the relationships built with his colleagues. Outside of work Tony loves going for food and drinks with his wife and spending time with family. He also enjoys watching sports on TV, mainly football ‘C’mon you Reds!’

Nicola has over 4 years of experience in laboratory testing having worked in different capacities. She has always loved theoretical, analytical and practical chemistry. Her strengths are new product development and being people oriented enjoys training new staff. She gets a lot of satisfaction working on scientific experiments and new chemical formulations for new products developed from initial trials. Nicola enjoys the camaraderie at Plater Group, in the lab and throughout the rest of the Glossop site. When not working Nicola can be found gardening, walking, spending time with family and friends and watching musical groups.

Nathan has a varied work experience from chef to retail positions, but has always had a passion for science especially testing and experiments and keen to learn new skills. His ability to work with chemical titrations and analysis together with his accuracy when working on new chemical formulations in the Plater lab is proving a winning formula. Nathan’s interests outside of work include cooking, baking, growing fruit and veg and spending time with family and friends. His favourite tv show is Grey's Anatomy, likes Disney films, loves all music from pop to country and has 2 dogs, Ruby and Mabel and a rabbit called Mylo.

Jade is the Accountant at Plater Group, Glossop. She has accountancy experience within the manufacturing industry since 2015 and has achieved AAT level 3 Advanced Diploma in accountancy. She really enjoys working as part of a team and particularly relishes solving the problems that an account’s role can encounter. Jade has a diverse range of pets, from the cat and 2 dogs, Boxer (Lennox) and German Shepherd (Cesar) to a bearded dragon! In her spare time, she is kept busy spending time with her husband and children enjoying family days out, long walks with the dogs and socialising with friends.

Jodi has gained a lot of experience in customer care and providing excellent customer service after time working in hospitality more recently within the NHS. Excelling at time management, Jodi enjoys the planning aspect of her position and loves being part of the Plater team. Out of work she loves going on long walks with her boyfriend and their Labrador puppy, Mabel. She also spends a lot of time cooking and listening to true crime podcasts.

Maria is an office administrator based at our Glossop office. Her previous positions in customer service and the social care environment means she has gained positive work experience and good communicational and organisational skills. She works well in the production team and enjoys the challenge each day brings. In her spare time Maria enjoys socialising and taking care of Millie, her beloved cat. She also has a real talent and passion for art.

Nadine is Customer Services Manager in Alrewas and has experience in business and sales. She has worked in sales for over 20 years, previously as Business Manager for Philips and Business Development Consultant. She enjoys the diversity of her role at Plater and is passionate about providing positive customer support. Nadine enjoys spending quality time with family and anything connected to the great outdoors. including walking, camping and bike rides.
